Right of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is the liturgical and formational process of welcoming and initiating new members into the Catholic Church. This process includes the reception of the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. This process culminates on Holy Saturday night when all three sacraments are conferred.
The RCIA process takes into consideration several circumstances: Those who have never been baptized, those baptized in another Christian faith and wish to become Catholic, and those baptized Catholic, but never received any formal education and formation into the Catholic Church.
For more information, contact the rectory at (773) 779-1515 and ask for Fr. Jim Mezydlo. This process is a journey of faith that benefits both the newcomer and the parish family of St. Walter.
